THE COMPLETE SEASON 1 (DESTINY CHILD GOSPEL MUSIC TALENT HUNT)ABUJA AUDITION

Abuja audition was held from 2nd to 4th of August 2012 with 1056 contestants auditioning for the top spot. What a relief when the number was trimmed down to 26 then 4 who indeed made it to DC City after competing at the group stage in Lagos.

Its day two auditions (Abuja Zone), Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt. Yesterday was fun but, day two started with some surprises, with 67 people, who registered at the venue with complaints as to why they couldn't make it on day one. After confirmation of registration and accreditation, the organizers allowed them to be auditioned, for their 1st round qualifier stage, bringing the total number of Abuja zone contestants to 505. At the end of this special audition for the additional contestants, 26 of them got green cards to proceed to stage two, while 24 of them didn't make the cut. Ooooops! Round two started off almost immediately with 228 contestants to be auditioned, the competition got hotter, with the three rooms now merging into a studio, with wonderful setup and three judges. It started with people holding hands and sharing songs together now became a struggle for supremacy, as contestants kept more to themselves and rehearsed solo. The anxiety was intensified for those who would go on to the third round, the sadness and pain got worse for those who this stage would mark the end of their journey in this first edition. With green cards giving way to white tags and fierce competition ahead, the judges had streamlined the contestants from 228 to 70 wonderful gospel voices that will ultimately compete for the final 4 spots, to represent the Abuja zone in the national competition. The pressure is mounting Day two didn't pass without good laughs, tears of loss and tears of joy, the journey continues with the successful 70 contestants and we can only wonder who and who makes the final 4, Phew!!! What a day... for those who will not be part of the final selection, our special prayers "God will surprise you. He will remove far from you every reproach. You will be highly lifted".......... Day 3 abuja zone auditions (04/08/2012) Wow! it's here finally, day three (3) and the finals for the Abuja zone Auditions, 70 contestants came, all with the dream of being amongst the final four that will represent the Abuja zone in the national competition. The judges mantled with the horrendous task of making this selections, came in to the audition venue not knowing what awaited them for the day 3 All is now set and it's the semi finals, one by one, all 70 contestants came in and wowed the judges with angelic voices, totally different from the voices heard during the 1st and 2nd rounds, it was just.... hmmmm!!!! I lack words to describe what these contestants sounded like; you only needed to experience it to understand it. Judges had a long day grading all 70 contestants, it was time to collate scores and come up with the fifteen (15) finalists for the last show down so all 70 contestants we asked to wait in a room while this was done....... wait what's that???? We started hearing worship songs from the waiting room, this drew all staff and crews attention, my God this was electrifying, a talent hunt turn into worship session, well, it's the "Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt" no surprises, but this was intense worship that left all 70 contestants in tears, it was awesome!!!! The climax of the worship session was when the judges came in and gave words of encouragement and sheared prayers with the contestants.... "Yes the judges!" A talent hunt with a difference *smiles!* funny enough, during this unplanned worship session orchestrated by the Holy Ghost, we realised some contestants were better off, but what could have happened during their audition? Could it be tension? Off course, YES!!! But the judges also look at vocal ability, courage, attitude and lots more. despite the Spirituality in their presentation, that could hardly be judged by the judges especially during the very brief audition which later reflected during the surprise and unplanned worship session, in which contestants were spirit filled with tears, rolling on the floor with voices that cannot be placed, obviously, voices from heaven. Now, the question is who is a destiny child? Because by our experience during the Abuja audition, the voice of a contestant facing the judges was quite different from when the contestants were in the spirit of worship. Pray with us.. "MAY GOD CONTINUE TO INTERVAIN IN OUR JUDGEMENT" AMEN!!! With the results out, the list of the final fifteen (15) was called. With heavy hearts and plenty of emotions 55 contestants were sent home, with some words of prayer. Sad but we had to get the final four. The 15 finalists were ushered into the studio, and were addressed by the judges, they were told to give in their best, and hence, it was the last chance they had to make it into DC City, for this edition of Destiny Child Gospel Music Talent Hunt The final showdown was no mean feat, with fifteen (15) excellent vocalists singing to impress the judges. Alas decisions had to be made and four contestants were chosen to represent the Abuja in DC City Lagos, want to know who they are????
